Lactose Free Milk
Well, it seems that lactose-free milk brands is fashionable. Pascual, Kaiku, Celtic, and even Squire supermarkets already have in these products. But … the question is, are these products suitable for those who follow the milk Monty “normal”? This is where I ask several questions I have about the matter.
Well, the forum will often remark that the lactose-free milk does not count so you can fearlessly take several glasses of milk a day without fear. I was in favor of this theory but viewing the properties of lactose-free milks is indicated in the very bricks that I realized maybe not.
What is lactose? For it is a carbohydrate (disaccharide composed of glucose and galactose) than in the milk. The process is to “eliminate” the lactose in milk is as follows. By means of enzymes that are added to milk lactose is broken down into two monosaccharide that form so that after the process elimination of lactose that milk is the same amount of carbohydrates, but with a different composition.
More or less milk has 5 grams of lactose per 100 ml of milk. For now still have 5 grams of carbohydrates but as glucose and galactose.
Do a test and see the bricks of milk. In the brick of milk lactose think it was specified. Ponies:
Carbohydrates: x grams
of which lactose <0.001 grams
glucose x / 2 grams
galactose x / 2 grams
The issue is: does lactose-free milk actually provides some benefit to the followers of Monty?
